Outside Reading Response 1

Hurricane Season

Hurricane Season is the new book that I am reading for outside reading. This book is a true story about John Curtis High School and their football team's struggle to get through it. This book is told from an authors stand point but it incorporates character's point of view in the writing.

As i noticed when I was reading, I noticed that this book takes place in Louisiana, kinda in the New Orleans area. This happened so close to home. I was alive in the time of Katrina, so i know what happened and i can connect with it. I remember the damage and the fear that many people had after it was over. I could see the devastation everywhere, even back home where i lived.

  1. I bet it makes for a good read as you can relate to the story and understand how it connects with your own life. I hope along with your relation this book has formed, you will enjoy it too.

  2. Good connections, Justin. And your blog can be a good place for planning and goal-setting, as you do in your other post, too. Try to vary your sentence beginnings - for instance, you have two sentences in the first paragraph that begin with "this book."
