Hurricane Season
So in Hurricane Season, they talk a good bit about how the school of John Curtis had such great staff and academics, but their buildings didn't reach very high standards. The story says that their cafeteria was like a refurbished barn, and their gym was like a rusted roof shack. I don't think that i would like a school like that, seems unsafe. I believe that that idea was a little stretched because now John Curtis is a pretty advanced school.
As i was reading i noticed that when they described the town that surrounded it to be like a concrete block. They also said stuff like, it was a middle class community, mostly white, with small ranch houses and postage stamp yards. I'm not quite sure what that last one means, but maybe I'll find out if I keep reading.
